The price of gold is predicted to reach US$1,800 per troy ounce and potential to reach US$2,000 per troy ounce

The price of gold is predicted to reach US$1,800 per troy ounce and potential to reach US$2,000 per troy ounce in 12 months to come. The price once decreased when the country led by Barack Obama released data about the creation of 117,000 job opportunities and a 9.1% decrease in the jobless rate.

Global analysts disclosed that besides US economic crisis, debt issue in Europe also becomes a catalyst driving up the price of gold on the international market.

The highest record of US$ 1,702.70 per troy ounce at Comex, New York. In Melbourne, Australia, the price of the same contract was US$1,701.90 per troy ounce. On the spot market, the price of gold increased by 2.2% to US$1,700.22 per troy ounce, which is also the first ever in the history.

Even though the price of gold has increased by 20% this year, the price hike may be higher than last year, 30%, if the US economy does not recover fully.

The worry about the US debt crisis and global economic downturn has driven the price of the precious metal. Gold is any of the safest investment instruments chosen by investors. When they are pessimistic or worrying about economic condition and currency, gold is any of the safest choices.

In fact, early August, gold carved again another history with the highest price hike. Would the commodity continue to record price hike significantly or decrease? The condition in the United States is highly decisive

In the January – June 2011 period, the price of gold rose by six percent and was closed at a level of US$1,500/troy ounce late June 2011. In the second quarter of 2011, the price of the precious metal increased by five percent.

Copper Issue 2011-2012

Copper Issue 2011-2012, ICSG predicts that global smooth copper production would increase by 380,000 tons this year from 2010 when the deficit was 250,000 tons. The rising production is driven by the high price of copper and growing demand from end-users. It is also driven by the demand from industry, which continues to grow in 2011.

At the event attended by copper producers and users, the production of copper is expected to grow six percent in 2011, compared to 4.3% in 2010.

However, the forum is also realistic so that the target of the production is revised again in view of global uncertainties. ICSG observes factors so that the target needs revision. Among them are earthquake and Tsunami in Japan, political uncertainties in the Middle East and Africa, changes in financial policies and uncertain copper market dominated by China.

The International Copper Study Group predicts that copper increase

The International Copper Study Group (ICSG) predicts that copper production would increase slightly in 2011. Disaster in Japan, financial policy and political disturbance causes copper production to not increase significantly. In addition, the price remains flat, not down or up significantly. From September 2011 to January 2012, the price of copper at London Metal Exchange (LME) ranges from US$8,813.75 to 8,837.00 per ton.

In a report July 2011, ICSG disclosed that the market of smooth copper up to April 2011, reflected a production deficit up to 36,000 metric ton even though the smooth and ready-to-use copper, based on seasonal calculation, showed a surplus of 46,000 metric tons.

In the first four months of 2011, according to data presented by ICSG, copper consumption grew by 1.2% from the same period last year when the consumption decreased by seven percent because consumption in the world’s largest copper consumer, China, decreased by 40%.

Another very important characteristic of titanium that makes it indispensable in the aircraft industry is it’s nobility to composites. Composites are becoming increasingly important to aircraft structure due to their light weight and smooth aerodynamics. An aircraft, in a certain build configuration, needs a set amount of thrust and power to create enough lift to sustain flight. Weight and drag are the main obstacles that must be overcome. Any additional power can be used for performance, how fast it climbs or how fast it goes, or for payload, how much it can carry.

For example, suppose it costs a mining company $1000 to mine an OZ(ounce) of gold, when the price of gold is $1600, the profit is $600 but when the price goes up to $1900, the profit is $900--a 50% increase in profits caused by a 11% rise in the price of gold.

Gold Stock looks very attractive for change

Gold Stock looks very attractive for change becuse the gold prices rally in stock market since August. After becoming too hot in July and early August, fell $ 340 per ounce to a low of $ 1,592 at the end of September. In one brief period in September, it fell $ 214 per ounce in just four days.

However, much of gold’s problem in August and September seems to have been the result not only of its overbought condition, but of the CME Group raising its margin requirements for holding gold contracts, by 22% in August, and another 21% in September. The higher margin requirements forced traders to either come up with more cash to hold their positions or cut back on holdings.

Timing the gold market

Timing the gold market today when th Venture Exchange had quite a correction from about 2,400 to 1,350 points. The juniors corrected much further than the senior and midtier golds. In September, the Venture Index was at its high from last year, about 1,750 points, a support level, and then there was a big sell-off in gold at the end of September as the gold price was knocked down about $300/oz with central bank Intervention. The index also took a quick, sharp drop on that sell-off in gold. That really hammered a bottom into that market, down to 1350. Since then, it’s rallied up a fair bit, but I’m still looking for about another 200 points. I’d like to see it get over 1,800 to be sure that it’s in a new bull move for the juniors. That would be a higher high, above the level where it fell from in September.

I think volatility is what we are going to be looking for the next several months or so but that after February gold has a bit of a problem."say Jon Nadler, senior analyst at Kitco.com.

Gold Prices in 2012

Gold Prices in 2012 predicted to Exceed prices $2000/oz.Gold charges hit a new high previously mentioned $1600 on Monday Nov 2011 as a result of a potent cocktail of economic uncertainty, challenging US deficit ceiling negotiations, European Union sovereign financial debt considerations and the risk of contagion to the banking sector.

Taken singly, the US credit card debt ceiling impasse or the ongoing EU sovereign financial debt crisis would be enough to bring about a gold rally. But together, the impact on gold charges is even a lot more bullish, as traders become wary of USD and EUR property and seek out a secure haven in gold. Based mostly on this, we imagine the bullion rally is very likely to proceed till tangible progress is created on relieving at minimum one particular of the sovereign financial debt issues.

Silver Coins Minting

Silver coin minting may up to 25% this year, taking the total to an all-time high silver coins minting in Thomson Reuters GFMS data series.Jewelry fabrication is expected to increase slightly this year, partly due to substitution-led gains at the expense of gold. Thomson Reuters GFMS anticipates further declines in jewelry fabrication silver demand next year.

Even though silver's core fabrication demand (excluding coins) should rise next year, largely due to gains in industrial consumption, "it will nonetheless be exceeded by gains in production and recycling." However the substantial silver market surplus should be absorbed by silver investors, Thomson Reuters GFMS suggested.
"Investor interest remains strong due to a favorable financial backdrop and in spite of two major sell-offs," Klapwijk observed. Meanwhile, he added, underlying secular growth in industrial demand continues, with much of this relatively price-insensitive, particularly in the short-run.

Gold is worth the risk?

Gold is worth the risk?Precious metal Gold has many attributes that investors want, and it has been one of the few assets to deliver positive returns since 2005.One of the most perplexing questions facing investors these days is what to make of gold. With the cracks in the global financial system seemingly growing wider, and gold prices in the midst of a decade-long rally, more investors are wondering, do I buy? Sell? Wait until later?

With the listing of the SPDR Gold Shares, then called the StreetTRACKS Gold Trust, exchange traded fund (GLD) in November 2004, questions about gold have become more pressing. Prior to the fund’s launch, there really was no convenient way to invest in gold, and so few investors owned it. Those who wanted to speculate traded futures, and the true believers stashed coins in their attic.

Now, there is $2.1 billion in Gold Shares traded every day and it is the second largest U.S. ETF by assets -- $68 billion as of October 31. Several copycat ETFs – including the iShares Gold Trust (IAU), the ETFS Physical Shares Gold Trust (SGOL), and the ETFS Physical Asian Gold Shares (AGOL) – have sprung up to tap into the demand for gold, proving the old adage that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Gold priced in euros is doing even better, rising 5.1 percent

Gold priced in euros is doing even better, rising 5.1 percent this month compared with a 3.6 percent gain for dollar- denominated bullion. Dennis Gartman, the Suffolk, Virginia-based economist and editor of the Gartman Letter, owns gold priced in euros and wrote yesterday that it reduces volatility.

Commodities as measured by the S&P GSCI gauge are heading for their weakest performance since 2008. Demand for everything from crude oil to aluminum to wheat contracted that year as nations contended with the worst global recession since World War II. The International Monetary Fund is anticipating no return to that slump, forecasting economic growth of 4 percent in 2012, unchanged from this year.

Eleven of 21 traders and analysts surveyed by Bloomberg expect copper to fall next week. The metal for delivery in three months, the London Metal Exchange’s benchmark contract, declined 20 percent to $7,639 a ton this year.

Platinum and Palladium

Platinum and palladium is currently providing a very large profit margin gains on the trade, when gold prices continues to rally and silver prices to hover, prices platinum and palladium are also make gains well. Platinum appears to be chasing gold, gaining $18 today while palladium gained $15, to trade at $661. The platinum group metals are obviously affected more by the strength of the industrial sector but they also obey the laws of supply and demand and these are definitely working in their favor at the moment. Demand for palladium, for example, is expected to rise by almost 6% each year for the rest of the decade while supplies look to be threatened by 2015, if not sooner.

"There is growing investment interest in the industrial metals," says Bill Hionas, CEO of Pan American Metals of Miami. "They do not react in the same way as gold, since their dependence on industrial demand makes them subject to the ups and downs of the economy. However, we have seen increases in car sales recently, particularly from the emerging economies of Asia and this has been reflected in increased demand for platinum and palladium."

Current day, gold reserves are almost exclusively, albeit rarely, used in the settlement of international transactions. At the end of year 2004, central banks and investment funds held 19% of all above-ground gold as bank reserve assets. It has been estimated that all the gold mined by the end of 2009 totaled 165,000 tonnes. At a price of US$1600 - US$1900/oz., reached in September 2011, one ton of gold has a value of approximately US$60.8 million. Analysts estimate the Silver Standard as a takeover target will decline.Silver Standard’s stock closed 5% higher on the TSX at C$16.25, having shed 21% the previous day.Announcing a $21.8-million third-quarter profit as higher silver prices more than offset a drop in output, the company said it had now addressed operating issues at Pirquitas, but decided to take the “prudent” step of halving reserves to 93.1-million ounces.

Silver Standard also revised its production guidance to between 7.3-million and 7.6-million ounces of in 2011.
“While we have taken a prudent approach to Pirquitas’ reserves, we have a great exploration team who are focused on finding more ounces,” CEO John Smith said.Lichtenheldt rated the stock a buy, but cut his 12 –month target price from $27.50 a share to $20.90.

Gold, Silver Prices make Great advantage 1.8% on this Week

Gold, Silver Prices make Great advantage 1.8% on this Week.Gold prices nearly $29 dollar when Friday after a pounding loss on the previous day. A weaker U.S. dollar was supportive of precious metals in general. For the week, gold advanced $32.00, or 1.8 percent.

Other weekly great advantage included a matching 1.8 percent for silver and dual 1.1 percent increases for platinum and palladium. Gold was the media headline grabber, rising for three consecutive weeks as other major metals will now attempt a streak beyond one.

On Friday, gold prices of $ 28.50, or 1.6 percent, to $ 1,788.10 an ounce on the Comex December futures contract in New York. The yellow metal ranged from an intraday low of $ 1,745.00 to a high of $ 1,789.40. Gold does not go with a low close twice this week. The biggest decline in three weeks occurred on Thursday when the price fell U.S. $ 32. Volatile swings should instill caution.

Mining Palladium Metal

Mining palladium metal is a precious metal that is worth selling expensive. In the world of 90% mining palladium metal producers is concentrated in just two countries: the Russian Federation and South Africa.10% mining palladium metal producers are the United States and Canada.

Mining palladium metal industry is capital intensive. Mostly companies need large investment to build production facilities and long-term survival requires heavy expenditures in order to finance exploration and production. Processing of the ore through milling, flotation and smelting to form a matte that contains the PGM is normally undertaken at the mines. Further refining may take place in refineries on the mine property or in other countries.

Scrap gold from electronics

Scrap gold from electronics found in numerous places on ; 1)Mobile phones : PCB, 2)PC Motherboard: IDE connectors, PCI Express slot, PCI, AGP, ISA, and other ports, jumper pins, the processor socket, and DIMM (SIMM on older motherboards) slots 3)Computer parts : Harddisk,CPU processor. All of these connectors are often covered with a fine layer of gold a few microns thick, deposited by flashing or plating.Gold plays an increasingly important role in industrial applications, particularly in electronics, despite its larger use in jewellery and investment products. As the annual statistics show (Gold Survey 2010, GFMS Ltd, London), some 300 Ton or more of gold are used annually in electronic components such as ICs,contacts and circuitry, the latter notably as gold bonding wire.

At the end of their use, electronic and other electrical product scrap offer an important recycling potential for the secondary supply of gold into the market. With gold concentrations reaching 300-350 g/t for mobile phone handsets and 200-250 g/t for computer circuit boards, this scrap is an ‘urban mine’ that is significantly richer in gold than the sources of the primary ores today. 'Urban Mine or Urban Mining' so people call it, this is a business about recycling precious metals gold and silver from electronic waste/e-waste,...and GOLD and SILVER results obtained so amazing, kilograms of gold and silver produced from electronic waste such as computers, cellular phones, SIM Card .. Etc.

In Japan,Eco-System.Co produce gold bars weighing 199.58 - 299.37 KG per month with a value of money earned between U.S. $ 5.9 million - U.S. $ 8.8 Million Dollars from e-waste recycle. This amount is certainly not with silver is also produced.

Generation Au | Gold

Generation Au/Gold today a lot of gold trader have little faith in equities and, unlike older investors, are more inclined to consider alternative investments. Others seek tangible, hard assets as a counterweight to stocks, bonds and cash in the aftermath of the 2008 U.S. financial crisis. It was only a matter of time,” said Divnain Malik, head of retail sales at Gold Bullion International, a seller of physical gold in NY U.S.. While around half of his clients are baby boomers and more established gold investors, the “younger demographic seems to be catching on.”

Indeed, the 25-to-35 year-old age bracket is the firm’s fastest growing segment of buyers, he said. Over the past two months, about half of the hundreds of new accounts opened at his firm were from people in their 20s and 30s, he noted, adding that younger investors are increasingly sophisticated, do not want to repeat others’ mistakes, and are protective of their investments.

Scrap Gold | Value Scrap Gold

Scrap gold is still a high value gold, what is scrap gold?Scrap Gold is the term given for the process of recycle broken old jewellery, coins and other items that are no longer wanted..this is term "Scrap Gold". Recycling gold has become a large industry, driven by the surge in the price of gold and the current global economic climate. Selling gold jewellery has enabled people to liquidate their assets into cash, a more usable currency in modern life.If we have any scrap gold, we can sell it, but for how much? Gold prices tend to rise when the economy is flat or when there are worries about war or inflation.

What about karat of gold. This is a simple formula can we use to estimate karat gold :
  • 9 K/karat gold is 9/24 = 0.375; 37.5% pure gold
  • 10 K/karat gold is 10/24= 0.417; 41.7% pure gold
  • 12 K/karat gold is 12/24= 0.500; 50% pure gold
  • 14 K/karat gold is 14/24= 0.583; 58.3% pure gold
  • 18 K/karat gold is 18/24= 0.750; 75% pure gold
  • 22 K/karat gold is 22/24= 0.917; 91.7% pure gold
  • 24 K/karat gold is 24/24= 1.00; 100% pure gold
Scrap gold into its various karat fineness (namely, 10K, 14K or 18k). You may need a magnifying glass to see the number inscribed on the piece. If not, you may need to have the gold tested by a reputable dealer. There's also the possibility that some of the gold is actually just gold-plated, which a dealer would determine with certainty by using a chemical test.

Gold benefits

Gold benefits from economic uncertainty situation after european leaders last week opened the idea that Greece's sovereign debt could default and the country might not receive EU financial aid if it failed to adopt austerity measures.Meanwhile, benchmark bond yields of Italy, the bloc's third largest economy, shot to a level that is widely deemed unsustainable, reflecting investors' concerns that they may not get their money back.

"The market is extremely worried. Changing leaders both in Greece and Italy doesn't change the fiscal situation and leaves us with a period of uncertainty," said Ole Hansen, senior manager at Saxo Bank. Holdings of the largest gold-backed exchange-traded-fund (ETF), New York's SPDR Gold Trust, gained nearly 1 percent from Monday to Tuesday, while those of the largest silver-backed ETF, New York's iShares Silver Trust, dipped 0.12 percent for the same period. Australian Gold Fields

Australian Gold Fields delivers record earnings plus a 6% rise in production from the Australian mines to 169,000oz (159,000oz) - was more than enough to offset drops at Cerro Corona in Peru and, in particular, in South Africa.South African production fell to 428,300oz (497,000oz) because of wage-related industrial action, safety stoppages and a slight drop in grade.Particularly sharp drops in output took place at Beatrix and, more worringly, at South Deep. This is the mechanised, deep-level operation which is slowly ramping up production and on which Gold Fields’ long-term future in South Africa depends.

On the exploration front, Gold Fields has moved to increase its exposure to the Philippines, making a second down-payment of $66m in terms of its agreement to take a 60% stake in the gold-copper FSE deposit.

Spot Gold Prices

Spot gold prices have rallied around 4 percent so far this month as mounting doubts over the Eurozone’s ability to tackle its two-year-old debt crisis drove investors to safe-haven assets and decoupled gold from other commodities, which it had followed through much of the past two months.US gold fell 0.9 percent to $1,783.50 an ounce. “The market is now running into the first technical resistances around $1,800 and the rally could slow down a little bit from here,” Credit Suisse said in a note.

Holdings of the largest gold-backed exchange-traded-fund (ETF), New York’s SPDR Gold Trust, gained 0.67 percent from Monday to Tuesday, while those of the largest silver-backed ETF, New York’s iShares Silver Trust, dipped 0.12 percent for the same period.

In Asia, China’s annual rate of inflation eased to 5.5 percent in October, the third straight month of decline from a three-year high of 6.5 percent hit in July and in line with analyst expectations.

But rising gold consumption in China, the world’s second-largest consumer after India, showed inflation remained a concern. China’s gold consumption is expected to jump nearly 50 percent to reach 400 tonnes this year, the China Securities Journal reported on Wednesday, citing China Gold Association President Sun Zhaoxue. In other precious metals, silver slipped 0.7 percent to $34,69 an ounce, while platinum fell 0.7 percent to $1,646.25 an ounce and palladium fell 1.1 percent to $660.50.

Gold approaching $1800

Gold approaching $1800 and silver over $35, while platinum and palladium gained $10 and $13 respectively, this reported by Pan American Metals of Miami on all four precious metals yesterday, November 8, 2011.
Gold and silver while gained on safe-haven demand due to the ongoing crisis in the European Union, palladium actually made the greater gains today, percentage wise.

Increasing car sales mean increased demand for palladium at the same time as Russia is casting doubts on the reliability of future supplies. This is a combination that is obviously inclined to push up the price of palladium. Rumor has it that Russia's stockpile of palladium may be running out very shortly, causing palladium to be in deficit."Gold and silver tend to dominate media attention but investors should take a serious look at platinum and palladium in terms of future gains," says Bill Hionas of Pan American Metals of Miami. "The economics of supply and demand are definitely working in favor of palladium at the present time."

Scrap gold, silver, platinum from an airplanes

Do yo know if commercial airplanes and U.S military airplanes give back to "graveyards" in the U.S. Southwest contain many thousands of dollars worth of gold, silver and platinum and are significant part of their scrap values....??

"Precious metals are used in airplanes, especially in engines, and when a plane is scrapped, the metals are recovered for their value and recycled," says Terry Hanlon, president of Dillon Gage Metals in Dallas. Gold is useful as a conductor and lubricator, he adds.

Up to 80% part of an airplane can be recycled, and precious metals can provide half of a plane's recycling value. When engines are scrapped or rebuilt, between $6,000 and $18,000 worth of precious metals can be recovered through leaching and radioactive processes. That's no small change considering that gold prices climbed this year, and lots of planes are scrapped in periods of economic weakness and when new models are built.

According to the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency, gold is used in aeronautical circuitry for relays, transistors, diodes and contact points, while silver is employed in electronic parts and welding and brazing wire. Platinum family metals are utilized in aircraft spark plugs and electronics.

Gold is a dependable conductor and connector in aeronautical circuitry. The yellow metal helps plane parts hold up well, reducing maintenance and repair costs. Thin films of it between moving parts serve as lubricants. Gold molecules pass one another under friction, creating lubricant action. The metal's malleability allows it to be processed into a thin film that can coat and protect moving parts.

And because of gold's reflective qualities, many airplane parts are fitted with gold-coated, polyester film to reflect infrared radiation and stabilize temperatures on board. Otherwise, those dark-looking parts of an aircraft would absorb a tremendous amount of heat. Gold is also used in space suits. A thin coating is applied to suits worn by astronauts to protect them from radiation and deflect burning sunlight.

Because gold is expensive, it's only used when cheaper substitutes won't do. But considering the number of lives at risk in air and space travel, and the billions of dollars spent on it, precious metals are worth it.

Spot gold lost half a percent to trade at $1,760 on Thursday

Spot gold lost half a percent to trade at $1,760 on Thursday, although prices gained nearly 3 percent so far this month and pierced through $1,800 earlier this week -- a level unseen since late September.ealers reported a mix of light buying and selling, and said many buyers were waiting for further price dips to enter the market.

"People are hoping to see a correction to $1,700 after the recent rally so that they can buy more," said a Hong Kong-based bullion dealer. "They are still interested in holding gold as a safe haven."

Buying from India, the world's largest gold consumer, eased after the key gold-buying festivals in the last week of October, but the ongoing wedding season is likely to support gold demand. The weak Indian currency helped push rupee-priced gold to its record high on Wednesday, depressing gold purchases, as dollar-priced bullion was 8 percent lower than its all-time high above $1,920.

The "Gold Fields" group also said it was now aiming to produce 3,5-million ounces of gold in 2011, the bottom end of a targeted range of between 3,5-million and 3,7-million ounces, as it tries to take full advantage of sky-high bullion prices. The company said it expected to hit this target "despite the recent wage-related industrial action and higher than expected safety-related stoppages which disrupted the South African operations."

The rate gold price was up about 13% to just over $1700 an ounce during the quarter to the end of September compared to the previous one. In rand terms it was up around 20% and both trends flowed to Gold Fields’ bottom line as about 50% of its output comes from South Africa.

Gold bounces give back onto investors' radars.Signal negative real interest rates and uncertainty over the outcome of the eurozone crisis will see the gold price steadily rise into 2012, according to FE Alpha Manager Mark Slater.Slater, who manages the sector-leading MFM Slater Growth fund, believes it is just a matter of time before the precious metal breaks the $2,000 mark.
